Cracks.

Back in the disco era, people dressed up, ppl looked good, still ppl were covered up.

Nearing the 90s, cleavages became the IN thing. if uv got the assets, flaunt it. well thats okay! at least its appealing.

2003~2004, the IN thing.. of all things ppl can think of... it has to be the asscrack!!!!!! its not cool to fcuking show off 1/3 of ur ass!!! no the guys do not appreciate having ur asscrack staring at us. n no its not half as appealing as cleavages. im traumatised by these asscracks i see everyday in the FCs n everywhere. can't everyone just pull up their jeans b4 they sit, or at least check? ok some guys show off their asscracks too. freaks! reminds me of the one dollar song.

one dollar one dollar hello one dollar.... urgh!

Back to serious business...

Singaporeans only care for themselves?

I felt ashame after reading the article. What kind of fellow S'poreans do we have? I can't say that i'd be of much help if i saw a situation like that but i know for sure, i wouldn't be walking away. Aren't we taught from pre-school to be kind, be helpful, be courteous? Quote from An ode to nice guys, "nice guys finish last." In this case, will staying back to help for a few minutes really affect so much of our lives? Will it really hold us back that much?

But i believe that S'poreans are not really unhelpful, uncaring. We just need to be told to care. We need constant reminder from either the media, through advertisements, through posters, through campaigns. We're often so busy that we tend to forget (or is that just a lame excuse?)

Being busy working, if we think about it, can also be seen as an act of selfishness. What do people slog so hard for? For a better life, to enjoy more luxuries in life, to satisfy our desire for the 5Cs, to boast to our relatives and friends. We've been drilled to work hard & work smart since young, i think we're compromising our humanity.

When it comes to charity, we need people to go on TV and do some stunts, amuse us before we're willing to part with that miserly few dollars. We need to keep hearing,"Please dial, 1900-112-xxxx, blablabla...." then we'll go," Oh yes yes.. there's this group of people who need our help." When we're on the streets and we see the less unfortunate asking for money, we do see people donating. But there're also the minority who're despicable enough to steal from the handicapped.

Acts of kiasuism can be seen daily in our lives. People rushing into trains to grab a seat, people rushing in the canteen, people "chopping" a place in foodcourts, people comparing about everything and anything u can think of, people rushing for freebies. Aren't these also testaments to how much we only care about ourselves?

What happened to all the efforts in trying to instill graciousness in us?

Of course we do not want to generalise the whole population. We have quite a large pool of social workers/ volunteers. Surely these people do not just care about themselves? These are people who walk the extra mile to offer their help to the less fortunate and usually, they do not get anything in return, probably just that personal sense of satisfaction. To this group of people, i salute u.

I wish for a day our people would offer help to any strangers. When we do not need reminders, when its already in us. But till that day comes, i say that however highly educated we may be, we're pathetic.

The reason..

Some reasons why today isn't a good day.

1) I hurt my shoulder during training. It hurts so much it's difficult to even lift it up.
And because of that, i sat out during training.

2) The team did well today. Which was good. But i wasn't part of it. I wasn't contributing. So that's bad.

3) We ran after training. Somehow i just didn't feel good.
Went to bathe after the run, halfway through bathing, dashed into the cubicle and i puked.

4) Came home feeling weak all over. Could not have a proper lunch. I puked again.

5) and also the reason as to why i think im not doing well today...

Ladies n gentlemen... Im down with a fever.. bah! of all days.

A full life?

So, today we'r suppose to discuss what's meant by living a full life. (Miss Sabrina you should give us more interesting issues man..) In my opinion, living a full life would be a life that is happy, meaningful, and one that's not held back by all your fears and reservations.

We should be optimistic about things in order to live a full life. Optimism i feel, isnt a form of deceiving oneself, instead, optimism keeps us going. There are so many things in life that we thought of doing but often, we're held back by fear. Fear of failure, fear of the outcome, fear of the unknown. Fear will definitely lessen the posiblity of us leading a full life. Yes even if we're optimistic we might still want to calculate the risk involved in certain situations but at least we would not be telling ourselves NO even before trying.

To lead a full life would not neccesarily mean being rich and famous. Doing the things you enjoy and doing it good would be better. It can be the simplest thing. I can be an artist not earning much but if i'm passionate about it, then i think it'll mean alot more than let's say, a millionaire's son who is forced to work in his dad's office but does not enjoy it at all. Only with the passion we have in doing certain things, then can we excel in it and feel the satisfaction from doing it. Only then would it be a life lead well.

Family and friends also play a big role in making our lives full. It does not make sense to be highly educated, rich but lonely. Although there are people who thinks that money is everything, money can buy happiness, money buys u friends, but how true are these "friends"? I personally feel that having the company of close friends would mean so much more. Family bonding is also an integral part of life. Life would lose much of it's meaning without the support of family, without a place you can go to and call home.

Having said all these and i'm very sure it's more than 200 words :) , u people will notice that i talked alot about meaning of life, or losing it. Because i feel that life if lead without meaning, without a purpose, would never be a life thats lead well n full.

*okay all go comment now!! hahahahaha... sian our class's weekly dose of thoughts ah~

12 storeys. Its so real.

After watching 12 storeys, i realised that if you wanna talk about reality, then probably thats reality. The ugly side of Singapore. The side that we choose not to talk about in public.

The show is set in a typical HDB flat that all of us can relate to. The main characters, people living on the 12th storey. Yes, we might think that the situations in the show are on the extreme side, at least its not the usual glamorous everyone's-doing-fine kind of show.

The show started off with this guy doing nothing all day just drinking n drinking like as if life has lost its purpose. I can relate to that, I know of people who were/are still like that. Haa.. I used to be drinking all day myself. I was doing all the wrong things. Glad i "woke up". Oh! At least i wasnt suicidal. :) Anyway, the director used to ghost of this guy to go into the lifes of other, something that not everyone would be able to do.The director brilliantly illustrated to us a different side of Singapore that we'r used to seeing on-screen.

Somehow, he managed to make it comical, yet when u really think about it, heartbreaking. The fat-ugly woman being opressed by her "evil" mother, the "perfect" brotherly character with his problematic little sister n brother, the old bug-toothed man with his young china wife.

I believe everyone would be able to say,"Hey i know of/heard of a person like that.."

It's sad to know that we'r far away from being the Singapore that we try to portray to the world. It's saddening to realise that we'r all living in tiny cubicles, each cubicle with its own set of problems.

oh no i duno how to end this thing. hahahaha..... is this acceptable

Shit

I think the colour scheme and everything is gayish.. haha but i'm not! and ah.. im still not good at controlling the stuffs. don't know how to edit stuffs.. frustrating... oh btw, poifull is some jellybean incase u people didnt know. And its the best thing u can find in a provision shop.
